A creation of the Pandanda brothers – Pandanda Kuttappa and Kashi Ponappa a veteran
first division referee, the tournament commenced in 1997 with the participation of 60 family teams.
To this day, that number has scaled up to more than 300 families.
Any family can volunteer to take up the honor of hosting this festival. Men and women alike,
regardless of their age, anyone who has an inclination to play is taken in without any bias.
